The Panasonic X800 smartphone is the second Symbian OS smartphone developed by Panasonic. It incorporates the v7.0 OS and Series 60 v2.0 user interface.
Designed for Chinese market, the X800 features Quickoffice - software that allows users to view, edit and save Microsoft Excel and Word documents and view Powerpoint documents. With its in-built camera (VGA resolution) and video function, users can store pictures and video clips on the miniSD card and also transfer the data to other compatible devices.
In general, the X800 is just a slighly tweaked X700. Its camera still only offers VGA resolution but now it comes with LED flash. One of the interesting improvements is its One Push Auto Open – just hit the button, and your handset pops open in an instant. Connectivity options include Infrared, Bluetooth and USB cable.
The external screen (4096 color CSTN LCD display) usually shows an analog clock. Using a hardware button users can switch it to a view showing indicators (network coverage and name, battery status, etc). It also shows caller identification (name/number or picture if found in the Contacts database).
Panasonic X800 isn't the most powerful Series 60 smartphone but it's definetely the smallest one and this can be considered its most important advantage. The handset is only 17.2 mm slim (100 x 48 x 17,2 mm), which makes it 6 mm thinner than its predecessor. And it weighs only 99 g. X800 is a triband GSM/GPRS device.
