Compatibility |
Nokia 9500 uses the same user interface as the 9200 series - the Series 80 platform (in an updated 2.0 version). This makes it compatible with previous Symbian OS-based Communicator models. Some incompatibilities may occur due to the new operating system version (7.0s) and hardware improvements, but such problematic applications will certainly be quickly updated and released as new, compatible versions. This means that majority of existing Series 80 software will be available for the new Communicator as it ships.

What's new in 9500? |
Nokia 9500 preserves similiar form factor and the same UI platform as its predecessors but that's where similiarities end. Based on the Symbian 7.0s operating system, equipped with a 150 MHz CPU and large storage and operating memories, featuring Bluetooth, GPRS, E-GPRS (EDGE) and Wireless LAN (WLAN) connectivity, the 9500 is a completely new quality in the Communicator family. Two suberb 16-bit (65536 colors) screens, stereo sound, built-in video and still camera, support for storage memory expansion with large, hot-swappable MMC memory cards, tri-band GSM operation on five continents... is there anything else you may need?
