Hello,

I just switched from the E90 (damn bluetooth defect forced me to switch but man o man do I miss the keyboard!) to the N96 yesterday. Unfortunately, I am having problems with the new Email Setup Wizard for this FP2.

I enter my username & password and boom, the N96 sets up the rest. Well that is great BUT it as set up my Yahoo email to be via IMAP. It will not let me select POP3 Sad . Maybe this is a bug? Has anybody else experienced this?

Thanks,

Sorry, I didn't set mine up for Yahoo Mail, but it worked fine for my Gmail account, and let me choose between POP or IMAP.

http,

For your gmail, did you select IMAP or POP? I have a Gmail account in which I would like to set it up as POP (faster!).

Well, it depends on the way you want to use your Gmail account on your phone. As for me, I use POP to get the latest emails and I use the Gmail application (available from Google Mobile website through your mobile browser) to be able to reach any other older emails in my Gmail box.

You should go to Gmail and activate in Settings or Preferences to Allow POP3 (or similar) and then you will get it to work on the mobile easily

Hello,

Thanks, I have Gmail setup. However with Yahoo!, when I go through the wizard and select POP3, the incoming server that is selected is: imap.n.mail.yahoo.com. The setup wizard did not ask me to select if this new mailbox is a POP3 or IMAP. So it is selected as an IMAP account under "Connection Settings". I try to change it to POP3 but am not allowed ("Unable to edit mailbox once selected...blah blah blah").

Is this a bug?

Regarding Yahoo myself is paying $20 (guess is called Plus account) to get POP3 working on my device. Some years ago that was the only way but not sure if that is same nowadays.

Hello,

I have (obviously) upgraded my Yahoo email to Plus. You are right, it is the only way to use Outlook or our Nokias. Unfortunately, still having problems Sad. I wonder if E71 users experienced this problem as well?

Hello,

I have a general question: Why is it that sometimes, when I connect to obtain my email (through the email client), sometimes it works and sometimes it does not? Meaning, when it works, the connection goes through and I can download from my 1 Gmail and 2 Yahoo accounts (using the setting wizard & IMAP..blah). Sometimes, it just won't work and the phone will pop up a username and password dialog box (and the option to save these settings, which is odd).

Do you think there is an error in my settings for the phone to be able to connect like 50% of the time only?
