			<title>Appforce 6.5 and S60v3 = Certificate Error :( (6 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37725</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> I now tried Appforge Crossfire 6.5 with Visual Studio 6.0.

When I want to copy some of the programs on the phone by Deploy to Device - Nokia Series 60 v3 I get an Certificate Error on the phone.

I did the settings mentioned at http://my-symbian.com/s60v3/faq/showquestion.php?fldAuto=14 and faq=1 but still get this error.

Anything else I could try?...

			<title>Programming for S60v3 with some Basic? (3 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37657</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Hi! I do not know C++ and so would like to make some small aps for S60v3 (especially the E60 phone) with some basic.

Is there any useful Basic Language that works on that phone?

The major problem I see is that you can only try the programme on the phone itself which is very slow and annoying. Isn't there any posibility to try it on the computer itself?

And where can I get Appforge 6.5? Seems it is not available anymore.

I also took a look on NS Basic but there you can only try your software on the phone and cannot use the whole screen, and I also found Handheld Basic which seems to be for Palm only.

Or maybe is there even any normal Basic which is not visual?...

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> I just got a brand new Nokia. After a few days (week, better), I told my self - ok, it's a finally time for stop playing and to start working the thing Nokia is bought.

I'm a desktop programmer. I work in VB 6 (VC++, SQL and stuff). How can I start creating applications for my Nokia???

Can anyone give me a head start???

Problem I have: I need to create an application that collects from Access Points data and store it in SD card... I wont start with that application, off course, but that would be the end of my work.

Help, pls!

BTW Sorry for my bad English. You probably even worse speak Serbian :)

Tnx in advance

what kind of tools we may need to write the application to a SIM card (or any other dummy card)? Or if it is supported in the Nokia emulator, can we use that?

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Hi
I'm new to programming for a mobile phone.
Hope there isn't much difference with this and for the pc.
Now my question:
Can you download MobileVB, or do you have to buy it?
All links I found on the internet seem to be broken!

Thanx...

			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> In latest Symbian newsletter I found a link to "Symbian Connect QI SDK - Release 30"

The SDK explains how to write own Windows program to handle phone backup, and it aslo explains how to set up a partial backup and a partial restore: very useful, since my Motorola Desktop Suite even backups .R05 files!!! :roll:

Instructions and samples are available in both C++ and Visual Basic Scripting (!).

I hope I'll be able to write something useful... :wink:...

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Anyone knows if Appforge Crossfire for VB supports activex controls ?

			<title>Getting UID from sis (3 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20748</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Hi,

I'm making a(nother) makesis gui for pc
I'm programming it in VB as this is the only language I know :)
It already does what it needs to do only I would like to add the option to grab the UID from a sis file you created before (if you have altered the contents).
I can't seem to find any info on this.
Is it possible to extract this info using VB6?
Is there any commandline driven app (as makesis) that I could use for this?

any help would be appreciated,
thanks in advance...

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Hi!

Descp.: To implement an app. with the listed capabilities on a low cost mobile phone.

I want to develop a mobile application targeting a very very low end I want to develop a SIM application and it does not require any GUI at all. Its just a daemon application. The application needs to be able to send an SMS when reuired and also react to a key press and dial a number in the address book. It should also be able to capture CELL information. And another aspect is that I am looking forward to implement this on a very low cost handset. I may need to update the application by just sending an SMS.

I believe Brew is very tedious to implement keeping in mind formalities to get the application accepted by the service provider / carrier. Is there any simpler way to get across this issue?
