			<title>USB Device Not Recognized? (2 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39852</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Hello everyone,

I am posting this as a cautionary tale:

First my original post:

-------------------

Hope to get some help here. My Nokia E90 which has been working flawlessly suddenly cannot connect to my computer. When I plug in the USB cable, Windows displays a Device not recognized message and fails to find the E90.

To rule out somethings - my USB cable is not plugged into a hub. I have restarted both PC/Phone several times.

I have since tried installing the latest version of PC Suite, removed/reinstalled the Nokia Connectivity Driver, tried different USB ports, etc...

Essentially nothing at all changed on my PC/Phone in the last few days (since my last backup) and now it just is not working.

I searched the forum and did not find an answer - can anyone please help?

----------------

Now the solution:

In a last ditch effort before I posted this, I tried a standard USB cable that I had my Blackberry connected to instead of the DKE-2. Lo and behold...

			<title>incoming call blocking (7 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39792</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Hello all

I have this company that sees fit to fax me an update of their stock every fortnight.
I am on their customers list, and the call is automated: the only thing they could do is to remove my number from their customers, and I do not want that.
Of course, I cannot receive the fax in the first place :roll:
Is there a way to block that specific number on my E90

PS: I am sure I will be very ashamed when I am shown the way but right now my phone is ringing every 5 minutes and I am starting to go ape :evil:...

			<title>E90 external keypad failure? (9 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39790</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Okay, this problem is documented here so far:

http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/discussions/board/message?board.id=communicators and message.id=42683 and jump=true#M42683

But the gist of it is this:

Several E90 owners over the last few weeks have reported errors in the hardware key mapping on the external keypad. It's always the same:

Up, left, and down work, but right equates to right and down. The center key works for select, but also opens the Voice recorder app. The left soft key now performs the functions of the green send key.

The internal keys still work perfectly.

And no, it's not software. I just successfully updated the firmware on my E90 to 400.34.93 in an attempt to correct the malfunctioning external keys as described above. It did NOTHING! My external keys are still mapped wrong in the exact same manner as before.

I haven't even restored any of my backed up data or applications yet and I wiped the firmware TWICE. This isn't a software...

			<title>N79 Issue- Sliding Lens Cover and SMS problems (0 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39788</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> About a month ago I purchased an N79 from Nokia and everything has been going great. The sliding lens cover started acting up: I would slide it and the camera would not be activated, any ideas on what would cause this? Second problem I had was that my sms messages would not be received unless I power cycled the phone. I tried several different sims, several different networks, and the same thing happened. I would send a text from a phone and the N79 would not get it. However, if I sent a message from the N79 it would be received by the other phone as normal. I have had many Nokias and never had this problem, any advice would be appreciated....

			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> So who else has BT drops? You can reset the headset all you want, but you need to go disable the BT in the phone and enable it for it to start working. The worst part is that I have had BT issues with virtually all of the Nokia phones I've had. I eventually went to Nokia headsets as they seemed to break compatibility with other brands with firmware updates....

			<title>Nokia E90 and the HTC Touch Pro2 (18 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39710</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> I have sadly decided :( not to buy a Nokia N97 to replace my E90. My E90 has been my favourite business device for 2 years (nearly) with no obvious rival. But after using the Nokia 5800 I seem to prefer touch screen devices more than in the past. The Nokia N97 could have been a potential E90 replacement but the reviews of the keyboard suggest it is not that easy to use. So I have decided to replace my E90 with the HTC Touch Pro2. The hardware and touch screen are good - a bit like a combination of the Psion 5 and Psion Revo form factors. The OS is a bit poor (still suffers from unexpected pauses!) but at least the form factor allows me to be fully productive while on the move.

Also I know with the Pro2 I wont get good photos and video - but I will use my 5800 for these as the 5800 is my weekend/after work phone.

If you have the E90 and Pro2 I would be interested in your views....

			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> I have been really impressed by the footage of the N97. The touchscreen UI and makes the way I use my E90 look oldfashioned. Very impressed with the large on screen keyboard for dailing numbers. I guess what the Iphone has learned us is what touch can do. And Apple made a device with a large screen acceptable as a phone and main stream.

I have got this app on my E90 that OCRs my businesscards to contacts: ABBYY. Makes it a lot easier to get in the contact details.
I would love to carry around my business cards in my phone. Well integrated with contacts, but accessable as stack of cards on the phone. So that you can flip though them, sort them om name, company etc. Dial the numbers on them directly etc.

That would mean I could lose considerabel volume in my bag: my recent business cards, and carry much more of them with me than I physicly can now.

What else would really make a difference in a new communicator?...

			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39648</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> hi,

I dont know if iam at the right place for this post(mod can move it to wherever it belongs) but all i have are 3rd edition phones and main phone is e90 so figured it would be best here.

I have had t-mobile usa for a few years now. At the time most nokia phones were triband so at and ts 850 band was the reason i picked t-mobile for my 5 lines family plan. But last 2 years i am seriously in doubts with t-mobiles future for my prefered unlocked phones. So far the best i could get was a piece of junk nokkia 6263 which i ve never really used much. There hasnt been a decent phone working with tmobs weird 1700 mhz 3g. I was very excited when i read allthe rumors about the se x1 with tmob bands but then they made it att only.
Now iam reading about all the new nice phones like n97, samsung omnia hd, se idou,wont support aws 1700.tmobs edge does not cut it for me anymore? Almost every phone has 3g in the us now and i get a high end 800+usd phone and edge only.

I have had my e90 for...
