Still having one sourceforge project to cater for ALL UIQ3 project? Sounds like abit to much, usually projects in this form are cross platform and already have their own infrastructure, like openttd or ScummVM. |
You are free to register your own of course.
The UIQ project is there to make things easy for smaller UIQ projects - No explaining SourceForge Staff what you are up to, Wiki already in place etc. pp.
Note that UIQ3 open-source software and tools is No. 4 on the SymbianOS software map (and 707 on the grant total list) while even The Open Screen Capture - a quite important UIQ program - is not even in the top 100 (and 48,244 on the grant total list). I guess most of you did not even know that the The Open Screen Capture has a Source forge project attached.

However, it's really rewarding (becoming a father )
My son taught me so many things about life than my whole earlier years did ..

@koolezt:
That is only an early alpha of SMan. I am showing you screen shows of SMan running on the G900 smartphone. It's still an early version, will announce when it is ready.
It should support all UIQ3 phones, but I only have a P990, P1i and G900 to test it on. Have yet to test it on an M600, W950, W960, G700, C702, Z8 and Z10.

It's only a screen capture (or two!). Nothing about it has been finalized. Remember, a lot of things SMan did in UIQ2 will require signing in UIQ3. The wonders of signing apps...
Nothing has been "cast to stone" so features may come and go.

right signing is not a problem for power users, you don´t even need certificate to do it if you wish, and that is the main group that is interested in sman

One is available now, the other you will have to wait a bit. May I suggest you go to the UIQ2 forums to know more about SMan. In a nutshell, SMan does a lot more things than SMP. Most of it was groundbreaking when we did it, or just very useful. Best of all, it was a FREE application with source code for the curious.
