Now symbian has dosbox port which i think emulating is more complicated that psx(if you dont count sound)
So maybe there will be somebody who will make psx emulator without sound?
I would like to play psx version of harvest moon:D
It can even have Frames per minute not second Razz

I know we only lose time waiting for miracle.

What about the new nokia phones with 600 mhz processors, (like the e72), wouldn't that make it more of a chance to emulate psx?

EDIT: The e72 has less free ram compared to the previous phone, the e71. To be specific, it has 40mb ram free left.

Eh people for some good (I'm saying good, that you will be able to play some games) you will need a device with at least 360mhz and 64 mb of ram, plus video acceleration.
So the processor is enough powerfull, still the ram and the way that mobile works cause pretty much difficulties to emulate ps1 on this devices.
And when I'm saying 64 mb of ram thats a minimum to run such an app there.
Still must be coded like perfect emulator, which is impossible even in PCs at the moment.

Yes, but according to a developer, ram isn't the actual problem:

"I was using N95 8gb. Adding more RAM won’t give you more speed, since there is no such thing as swap in Symbian OS."

Oh ffs is this thread still going? We haven't even seen decent SNES emulation on an S60 device yet, so the chances of seeing a playable PSX emulator are practically nil. Even on my GP2X Wiz, which has a processor than can be overclocked to 833Mhz, PSX emulation is dodgy at best.

But the Iphone and Omnia can emulate the psx on full speed. (I suspect the gpu is part of the reason).

It's not full speed. At least on the iPhone, there's a great deal of lag.

Actually, I take everything I said back. The psx is awesome on the psp, its designed to play psx games with its controls and all. If at all, I wouldn't bother playing a psx game on my phone.
