Thanks for developing this application for Maemo5.

I had no problems with installation and in landscape mode it works very well. In portrait the ui works but the video frame doesn't.

I don't know if it was already mentioned but this package should also be optified as it takes about 450 Kb of rootfs space.

Keep the good work.

Some generic answers:
- first start takes more time because SPB TV is downloading a large amount of data (channels list, logos and etc). We will improve the "connecting" dialog to show more details about downloading progress to user. Also we will include some pre-downloaded data into .deb file.

- on-screen volume control doesn't work now, but you can change the volume by hardware buttons on the side of N900

-some channel have a better quality than other - it depends on server side (and depends on channels sources). Any problems with sound, picture or audio-video synchronization is rely on server side, but it would be nice if you'll report such kind of troubles and will give the name of the channels.

-the updated version will be available soon Wink

will this version above been updated with the one in the first post?
Now it is a bit complicated when you start reading the topic and think that version is the latest.

I got it! I got it!

When the Silent profile is on, there is no sound.
Switching to General made it work.
Works like a charm. Great app!

Good idea. I've just added the new version to the first post.

strange, i installed the new version and after opening it up, the about section still says version 1.0-6

so i opened up my app manager to uninstall and reinstall, and the package for uninstalling says spb-tv 1.0-7

is it possible they just didnt update the "about" section?

i am going to uninstall and reinstall anyway to see if it fixes it.

same here, in the about it is station 1.0-6
I think they forgot to update the file

About the application it self, I tested, via wifi, two channels and the sound was not fluent, to much pauses because it buffered to much to hear a whole sentence.
even on low quality
but I understand this is still alpha, because it is a good iniative and already a lot of channels to watch

Hi,

I am running PR1.2 and tried to play with spb-tv 1.0-6 and 1.0-7. Sadly I got this error any time I tap to play a channel:

"Video stream error [could not open resource for reading and writing.]
[URL]"

Does any one experience same problem? Any Ideas what can be wrong?

N900 connected to internet via wlan, no proxies or firewalls, connection speed good enough to stream video

*eagerly waiting in vain to test the app

Hi mqks

I had it with some channels but then I tried some others and they worked, but as I said above, to much buffering so it isn't pleasant to watch and listen.
