It does, but that disappears once you place your vote.

OK, thanks.

That makes a lot of sense; a very good feature as it stops folks from cheating by voting more than once.

Thanks for the info.

Regards,

FWIW I don't even know where to set my Avatar - I don't post very often but I'm very glad for the like button and the thanks button which I use to show my activity more than anything else.

Is there any way to record the number of thanks given, ratings given and likes pressed? If so you can classify registered users with a certain degree of participation in the forum/catalogue as 'active members'.

I suggest you go the way of mediafire and rapidshare - site supporters and 'active members' get instant access to downloads and content, others have to wait a minute with a reminder that site supporter or 30 clicks a month, say removes the wait.

PS I voted no because I'd much rather see the Wetab review - the N900 review unit was so similar to final I don't see the need for another review.

The WeTab review will come first, mainly because I have to return WeTab in a couple of weeks.

Regarding the N900 review, you are right, the preview from Sept 2009 was quite extensive and the reviewed unit was actually identical to final builds (and it was also updated based on a final unit). However, my intention was different - I wanted to make the new review something like "The N900 after 18 months", i.e. not reviewing the actual device but rather describing how it works after 1,5 years, what kind of problems I've experienced during that time, how it compares to more recent phones based on other platforms, what's the most useful and valuable software for it, etc., i.e. all the things that were unknown and couldn't have been reviewed in 2009.

Anyway, considering the results of the poll (27 votes in total vs. 1600 thread views) and that no single new vote appeared for a week or so despite this discussion, as I wrote I will probably make all reviews accessible to Site supporters only. I don't see any reasons why those who don't even bother to vote would be taking advantage of it. After 12 years, I've really had enough of my reviews having millions of page impressions but feedback measured in single votes and comments.

Your review of the N900 was why I purchased one - I understand now a 'long term test' in the parlance of car magazines. Yes that would be different and worthwhile - I'd vote yes on that basis!

Just bought this amazing device few days ago and I`m absolutely blown away. Of course I do know that it`s already forgotten by Nokia, without any official support, based only on community interest - one can say that it`s an absolete platform. But hey, I just needed to try this unique device. Why did I waited so long?
I`m running on PR1.3 + newest CSSU + power kernel + swappolube @ 850MHz, getting to know with new platform. So as a new N900 user (and old forum member Wink ) I would like to know your final opinion about it Michał, software recommendations etc. Voted already.

now, the "long-term-review" of the N900 sounds even more interesting than just a revised version of the original review.

I have already voted, so I can not do more here. But count that as "two thumbs up"
