PostPosted: Tuesday, 14.Nov.2006 13:37    Post subject: Can't close Ad-Hoc Bluetooth PAN   Reply with quote

When I look in my connections manager, I see that my Ad-Hoc Bluetooth PAN connection is active (above the log-line), even though bluetooth is off and I'm not connected to internet or any other bluetooth device.

When I try to close, it does, but immediately starts up again. Sometimes it even makes my phone crash. Then I get several erors, for example this one:

IrSendlisten
KERN-EXEC
0

Also, looking at the details it says "status: connecting", and "shared: 2 clients". I have no clue what these clients can be. The log tells me that no data is ever being transferred.

Oh, and I can't delete or edit the Ad-Hoc Bluetooth PAN account in Internet accounts. All the options are greyed-out and it says it's read-only.

It's rather annoying, because every time I disconnect my phone from the cradle, it wants to search for bluetooth devices and asks me to turn on bluetooth.

Does anyone has the same issue? Is it a bug, or is there some way to shut this connection off?

Thanks in advance.

Blacky

Me neither. I think it's impossible. But you can turn the bluetooth off, and the connection can't do anything Wink

So is it a bug, or is it normal? Or am I the only one with this problem?

It's annoying that the phone keeps asking to search for bluetooth devices when I take it out of the cradle.

I have the same problem so I assume it is a software fault on them all.

Right, thanks. We'll just have to sit back and wait for the next firmware then.

Well, I can't think of any reason why it should be on.

Like I said, it's annoying to have to tap on "no" (wether to turn on bluetooth and search for new bluetooth devices) every time I take my P990i out of the cradle.

That doesn't happen to me using my M600i, granted no cradle here but using the spplied USB lead I have no such problem.

@s.t.s,

Yes it is true that it happens with P990 when you take it out from cradle. But as blacky mentioned it is really very annoying to see that message every time you take our from cradle. I just hope SE fix this in the next FW along with many other problems. Shocked

I have the same issue on my m600i when removing it from the cradle, or when shutting down my PC with the phone on in the cradle.

As much as I like this phone this is one thing I find annoying - I have to cancel it everytime it happens - seems like it would be an easy thing to fix in the firmware.

Hey there, first post and all that.

Regarding taking the phone out the cradle, thought i'd say the same thing happens to me, but only when in Phone usb mode, when in File Transfer usb mode, I get the installer for Open Transport Tycoon pop up! This is probably due to some form of bodged installation, but it sure is weird!

To be honest though I'm not that bothered about it, if I'm taking it out the cradle, my attention is already on the phone and it's a very small amount of energy needed to press cancel!

R5B02 released on 8/2/07.

The phone no longer tries to establish a Bluetooth PAN connection everytime I disconnect it from its cradle.
