I am not a developer only a normal mobile user but I can understand that this announcement can be one of the most important happening of the last months in relation to mobile operating systems:

https://dot.kde.org/2015/07/25/plasma-mobile-free-mobile-platform

May be you have to inaugurate a new section, Michal!

I thought KDE Plasma for mobile was pretty much dead looking at the activity this spring, but apparently I was looking in the wrong place. On the desktop side KDE Plasma 5 is one of my favourite projects, and it would be very nice if the code base can be polished enough so the core parts of plasma can be shared, while the GUI adapt the form factor of the device instead.

The KDE project has extended the Qt framework since 1996, and now with Qt5, KDE frameworks get much more modular, so I guess it will be easier to use only a few of the extended KDE APIs without needing to use them all.

The video looks cool, but I think it will take time before it catch up even with SailfishOS.

Looks very interesting! Hopefully it will turn into something material soon. I certainly will keep an eye on it.

I linked to KDE plasma here on my-symbian some months ago but without any replies. With all the other Qt platform dying on us, like Symbian and BB10 this could be some light on the horizon.

On desktop, KDE is my preferred GUI. On mobile I think this can catch up very quickly, especially if it is allowed to go the same path as Ubuntu mobile which basically means, the full desktop OS with programs adapted for touch screens.
