Hi Malcolm,

I am using the latest version now (1.53 IIANM) and syncing works fine for the N97 (the internal sync) but it crashes when i try to sync from jabp.sync file (I am still using the latest version as well 2.29). I believe the error was it was running out of memory or something like that.

Hello again,

I suggest that you do a full backup either from Jabp to JabpFile or from JabpFile to Jabp, depending on where the 'master copy' of your data is located. Then try using the sync process again.

For what it's worth, I am using a Nokia 5800 and the latest version of the firmware has allocated much more heap memory to the Java runtime (hurray!). JabpLite now runs in plenty of memory. I hope that Nokia make a similar change with the next N97 firmware.

Best regards,
Malcolm

malcolm,

Thanks. I will give that a try. Otherwise I will wait for the 2.0 firmware for the N97 which promises loads of memory.

Malcolm,

Quick question, since Jabplite is Java based, will the application work on an iPhone?

Unfortunately not. The iPhone doesn't have a Java runtime.

Hi malcolm,

thanks for the answer ... darn! I'm getting myself the 3Gs to replace my N97 and the main drawback is Jabplite .... I guess I will have to use Jabp in the desktop then.

This is definitely off-tangent but any plans to develop something for the iPhone?

No plans to develop for the iPhone. My next project will probably be to develop Jabp/JabpLite for Android Smile

Hi Malcolm, it's been a year since I moved to the 3Gs (currently using SplashMoney). I will be moving to the N8 in 12 days so was wondering if Jabp/Jablite will work with Symbian^3?

Got myself an E90 a couple of days ago. I thought I'd never find a reasonable finance program replacement for ABP I've been using on my Nokia 9210 for the past year. Then I saw this and exported all the data from ABP and imported to JabpLite. Worked like a charm. Malcolm, thanks a lot for the app. In fact both of them Smile

You've done a good job finding workarounds for the "dumb" S60. I thought you'd never be able to port all of the functionalities from S80 but there they are, and even some more. Very nicely done indeed.

Malcolm ... Yesssss!!!!! This is awesome news. I will be downloading the latest version now.

Now need to figure out how to export all the data from splashmoney to Jabplite. This is awesome news indeed.

I have not been regularly visiting My-Symbian after moving to the iPhone so didn't see your reply until today. Great new year this is ...

Has anyone managed to run JABPLite v1.87 on an unrooted ICS Android system?

I have my settings set to allow installation of non-market apps. I have
downloaded the Jabplite zip file, extracted the .apk file and installed it.
It installs, but gives me an error "Jabplite has stopped" when I try to run
it. I had also installed the previous version 1.86 with the same results.

The Forum seems to be down on the Freepoc website for the last number of
weeks. I have sent an email to Malcolm, the app developer, but have had no
response.

Many thanks for any pointers.

Best wishes,
Martin O'Neill

Hi all,

I only just saw this note. I am still supporting JabpLite on Symbian although I myself use the Android version. Happy to help anyone who is using the program on Symbian - I will dig out my trusty Nokia N8. The best way to reach me is by email at malcolm@freepoc.org.

Best regards,
Malcolm
