This is a SNES emu. It has identical launcher as PicodriveN, but the emulator is completely different. It is based on OpenSnes9xGP, which itself is based on Snes9x.

A lot of ROMs run, but most of them have various bigger or smaller glitches. There is also sound support, but is slow, although I tried to improve that.

latest version is 0.40
download
Warning1: I you have 0.30 installed, you must uninstall it before installing this. Otherwise you will get two uninstall entries, and if you own A1000, the program will not run! Don't worry, your config will not be lost in the process.
Warning2: There has been a report that some phone keys stopped working after using this emu. This never happened to me and I have no idea what could cause this.
Install at your own risk.

Release highlights
* noticeable sound performance increase
* stability fixes and other minor optimizations.

If you like this program, you can donate by "buying" it at My-Symbian shop. You can do it multiple times Smile

Sera, how does it works in comparisson with the Vsun emulator??

This question also goes for everybody who could test both programs, just to have a precedent about the performance of this new emulator. Mr. Green Mr. Green I Love You I Love You

another BRILLIANT piece of soft this week (after SmartMovie 3.11) !! works really nice but I haven't been able to run any bigger roms, e.g. Donkey Kong Country. with many roms it says "failed to allocate memory". I've tried both zipped and not zipped versions.. my phone is P900 and I have more than 8 MB free on C

Hey, thanks for the warm feedback!

Well, it wasn't that hard. This was possible only because Snes9x team wrote portable code and because OpenSnes9xGP devs (Laxer3a and Yoyofr) did great job optimizing PPU (picture processing unit) code + wrote their own CPU asm core, which was also used here. Besides I already had working launcher from PicodriveN, so I only had to adjust some memory quirks, asm syntax for for gcc, write fast drawing functions and glue everything to one program.

Maybe after I get a better phone. From what I heard, Amiga emus need much more free RAM then those 8MB my P800 provides. Also, I have never seen or used that system, so I am not interested that much.

Yeah, Snes9x is a memory beast, this also happens for me. The system simply refuses to give memory for 4MB ROMs. But there is a workaround (works for me):
1. Exit Snes9x
2. Exit any other apps, use Sman when needed. When done, close Sman itself.
3. Launch Snes9x again and load that 4MB ROM.

BTW, Donkey Kong is unplayable for some reason (~5-6fps only).
