Does anyone know if the E61 will work with iSync? It doesn't seem to work "out of the box". Is there an S60 V3 version of the iSync helper app? I'm guessing I could hack the plist. Anyone else done this with another S60 V3 phone?

You could take a look at the iSync plugins from nova media. One of these supports the E61.

The SyncML-iSync-Plugins from Novamedia work great.

I am a happy camper. Just got the E-61 today.

I am trying to edit my MetaClasses.plist file and add the above mentioned text to get my E61 to Sync. It does show up in the iSync window but i can't choose anything to sync.

The only thing i have to do it edit the plist file and then i am good to go right?

Looks like the sync has some problems without the plugin though so i will probably just buy that one i guess.

Yes .. that's all you have to do.

However, after almost a week of using the E-61 with the Nova Media Plugins, my personal recommendation would be to go for the plugin -- it saves you a lot of time and effort trying to get the hacks to work -- and most importantly, it gets the job done -- every time.

My two bits.

Krish

Can anyone advice on syncing E61 with Entourage? Currently, for me the best Mac to Phone sync is with Treo 650, where you can get notes/memos as well. Unfortunatelly this has been a big issue for me since using Nokia 9500. I simply can't find anywhere, how to sync Memos/Notes from e61 (or be it 9500) with my Mac. Any help/tip much appriciated.

Thanks, Mike

Not sure what you mean by saving a lot of time. Total time for me to edit the file is no more than 5 minutes and that's it! It syncs everything too without fails so I am confused about your statement...

This statement is based on my previous experience with the 9500 -- used a hack to sync addressbook and calendar until an update in iSync broke this. Then installed Nova Media Plugins and got back ability to sync. Updates to the plugin broke sync again. This time, I used up a lot of time trying to get the update to work ... and had to rollback.

Once I got the E61, I just installed the updates and have been syncing happily ever since.

I hope I have clarified my statement.

Cheers,
Krish

It's a known bug in S60 calendar, apparently from what I read.

In which case, you are using the old set of Plugins from Nova Media. You would required to apply their SyncML-Plugin-Update and this issue should not arise for you.

Hope this helps.

10 Euro for 3 sec of work? hahaha.

To fix the time difference bug in iSync:

In Finder: press Command+Shift+G, paste:
/Applications/iSync.app/Contents/

Press go
Search for
PhoneConduitv2-serie60-SyncML
Make sure you search only in that folder, not on your drive, home directory, anywhere else.
Make a copy of that file in case you break something.

Doubleclick on the file. In the property editor go to:
Root/SyncDataClasses/Calendar

and change hasTimeZone to yes

Launch iSync and enjoy your events at the right time.

P.S. You can get the edited files from here:
http://www.mactomster.de/apple/isync/isync.html
Just drag & drop all files to that "Dateien hier rein kopieren!" folder and confirm replace. You will still have to follow the steps above to fix the event time.
