Hey all. I upgraded the firmware on my N80 last night from V 3.0614.0.3 11-04-2006 to V 3.0617.0.6 03-05-2006 and all the 'low memory' problems I was getting with the web browser, gallery and video playing have gone.

As a test I tried browsing dozens of pages that always gave me 'low memory' problems before and they all loaded without any problems. I also used to get the memory problems when zooming in on pictures past 50% and have no problems with that now either. Very Happy

However, I still have the problem with the multimedia key working intermittently (that's in a different thread). Evil or Very Mad

I won't go into specifics here because it's all dealt with on another forum, and I wouldn't normally link to another forum from this one but I found it useful so... http://makeashorterlink.com/?G35A1253D

Yeah I was nervous too but sometimes you have to take risks! Very Happy Since I reflashed the only problem I've had is the phone rebooting itself (about 6 times in total), twice from the web browser and the other times from the gallery, but I can live with that seeing as I've not had any other problems at all.

I've just ordered a black housing for mine so next up I'll be taking it apart. I can feel the nerves starting already. Laughing

Can you use the music player and the browser simultaneously? For e.g. if I open www.index.hu page (cca. 350KB) the music player quits in the background.

I have a N80 with firmware

v.3.0617.0.6
03-05-2006
RM92 Nokia N80 (33.01)

And I have the problem with the memory card. I have an original 128mb Nokia miniSD card and when i am in the camera it will say that you cannot access the card memory and to use the phone instead. Plus I have had occasions where i am on the browser and the phone rings so the N80 resets itself.

So there is still some problems left to iron out

Dave

You need to do a reset on your phone.

1. Backup your phone contents (under Tools, Memory, Options, Backup phone mem.) into your memory card.

2. Off the phone.

3. Holding the a)green key b)the 3 key and c)the * key simultaneously while turning the power on . hold these keys until the phone asks you to select the city.

4. After you set the city and time, do a restore of the phone memory.

5. Do a test send and see the speed increase! (hehe, not increase per se, just back to normal...)

No problem. My girlfriend's N80 has the exact same problem and I tried the hard reset method (something like windows ctrl-alt-del). Just sharing my experience.
