Could pls somebody try Route 66 on the E90. I think only the latest version works correctly (7.3.xx)

I know it works with N95 and it has a fix of only few secs., so much better than the internal nokia smart2go.

i would like to know how it scale with the internal screen and if it works ok also with E90.....

thanks if u can post a picture with internal screen map..

You have to buy
Only registered users can see links

as the software comes on a memory card. It cannot be downloaded and there is no trial version.

I will try it when my E90 arrives tomorrow. Wink

I'm Currently using the latest version of Route 66 on my N95 and it works very well (allbeit with a BT GPS Receiver). It should also work with the E90 but again not with the internal GPS module.

I can confirm that the initial release of Route 66 Mobile 7 does use the N95's internal GPS module, but contains a bug that causes the program to crash as soon as you try to navigate (at least with the UK maps installed).

Personally, I'd rather have the latest maps and bug free version of the software and put up with using a separate BT GPS receiver.

Regards

news?

My phone was delayed 1 day due to a Fedex/customs clearance, so I've not had time to play about with it too much yet. Hopefully, have a go at installing R66 onto a 2GB card to try tomorrow night and will let you know if it works.

regards

hi

Route66 works fine - you need the n95 modded version to get the internal gps working. Internal screen is fine and makes use of higher resolution.

I dont like it though. Waiting for tomtom.

With inner keyboard one can only zoom with "*". "#" is only accessable via shift+3 and route66 sees it as 3 and goes to gps-info mode.

Ciao

OK just tested Route 66 Mobile 7 (retail version stright off th CD) and as I suspected we will have to wait for anofficial update of the software. It installs and works well on both screens. E90 gets a sat' fix within 2minutes but the program crashes as soon as you start route navigation. I believe this problem only exists with UK maps installed though.

I have also tried wisepilot navigator software (wisepilot.com) and was able to successfully navigate with the phone's internal gps. only try this one though if you have a hefty data tarrif (eg T-Mob web n walk). i like this software alot as it has built in safety camera warnings, traffic alerts and the routes calculated are way more reliable than Nokia Maps (in my experience). Wisepilot works inthe same manner as Wayfinder (i.e. All maps are stored on a central server and the phone only downloads what it needs for the calculated route.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling now!

Regards.

Installed the whole thing within 5 minutes.
Much, much better then Tomtom on Nokia 9300(i).

Works fine on my E90 too, but I'm afraid I have to differ Wink : as soon as there will be a TomTom release working with the E90 internal GPS I'll switch back - TomTom is IMVHO a league better than Route66.

My two cents, of course Wink

I have version 7.3.545 of Route 66 (got it because I wanted to use the internal gps of my E90) but as soon as it starts it looks for a Bluetooth GPS and I can find no option to specify the internal GPS. Any ideas?
