Hi All,

My E90 (with latest fw) has strange problems:
- "memory low" message
- no shortcuts
- no icon when connecting to internet (3G)
etc...

Any idea?

Regards,
Lauri

PS
I tried to find the similar problem from the forum but no success

You could first reboot the device. If this does not help, you could try a soft reset of the device by entering *#7780# on the standby screen.

Have tried to reboot - no success
soft reset - same story.
however, i found that post http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/discussions/board/message?board.id =communicators&thread.id=27410 which says that restoring settings after soft reset will cause the problem.

Intresting read on the Nokia Forum, I have had a problem for the last two months that I can send sms but on recipt I can not open them.

I have been waiting for the next firmware updtae as a reason to reinstall everything excluding the settings. However I suspect I could be waiting a while longer so it looks like a busy weekend ahead to reset and reinstall everything.

Good luck and keep us posted `please.

My preferred method to reformat the device (or update the firmware) is as follows:
  1. Make a backup of the phone memory with Nokia Content Copier in Nokia PC Suite.
  2. Import the settings from the device with the Nokia Configuration Tool.
  3. Reformat the device (or update the firmware with Nokia Software Updater).
  4. Selectively restore the backup, everything except settings, with Nokia Content Copier.
  5. Send the settings to the device with Nokia Configuration Tool.
  6. Manually configure the remaining settings.
This works well as I have installed all applications and messages in the phone memory. You can also install 3rd party applications with the Nokia Configuration Tool.

That said, after update to the latest firmware version, as a test I restored everything including settings, and so far mostly no problems. But after some freezes in the Web browser recently, I am considering soon to reformat my E90.

Hi,

What i did was:
- formatted memory card
- formatted device
- restored contacts only with Nokia Content Copier
- inserted manually all settings

Works like a charm (with Nokia tune i havent changed yet;))

Many thanks
Lauri
