Hi,

We are at Epocware about to realease a new app for S60. It's a Calendar. There are few screenshots, so you can see how it will look like.

http://www.epocware.com/beta/HandyCalendar_S60/Screenshot0031.png

http://www.epocware.com/beta/HandyCalendar_S60/Screenshot0034.png

We are going to start a public beta testing in 1-2 weeks here in the Forum. Until then you are welcome to post here your feature requests and suggestions.

Br, Epocware Team

Hi All,

Handy Calendar for S60, Beta 1 is ready:
http://www.epocware.com/beta/HandyCalendar_S60_3_Beta.sis

Please post here your bug reports and feature suggestions. When reporting use the following pattern:

ID: Your forum nickname + number, e.g. epocware-1
Subject: Where/what + [ERROR/FEATURE] + short description, e.g. Delete entries [ERROR] gives “Memory full” error while deleting All entries.
Phone: Your phone, firmware version, phone language.
Details: Preconditions, steps to reproduce for a bug; a detailed description for a feature request.
Current result: The current result, error messages for a bug.
Expected result: The result you expect.

This will help us a lot with sorting and processing your feedback.

We are planning to release the Beta 2 in a week or so. We will also start translating Handy Calendar into all possible languages. Information how to take part in this will come shortly.

So, let’s start! And as usual the active beta tester will get free copies. :)

BR, Epocware Team

Hi again,

The Beta 3 is here. The link is the same:
http://www.epocware.com/beta/HandyCalendar_S60_3_Beta.sis

Changes:
1. New languages added.
2. Many translation fixes.
3. Fixes.
4. # hot key to jump between current date and today.

Things are moving not as fast as we expected, but anyway we are going to make many more fixes next week and make a release-candidate.

Thanks for your constant feedbak - we do read it all and we will try to fix most of the reported bugs before the official release.

Have a nice weekend!

Br, Epocware Team

I am pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway just in case I'm wrong - Is it possible to include categories that are sync-able with Outlook, is that something that no symbian software will do?

2.Hope can create events as Palm style.key in 1233 at first, mean to creat a event of 12:33.

Missing for E90 default calendar which would like to see in you software (just in case you haven't, but i presume it's being covered):

-recurring or repeating events -- very limited. like monthly by day (ex: 2nd sunday of the month)

-ctrl-c, ctrl-v, ctrl-a shortcut

-possible to press calendar button and toggle between views?

I hope it would make good use of the extra space that the E90 internal screen offers and that it will 'switch' well between the internal and external screens... Smile

Agree with above, categories Outlook sync and linking through to contacts would be great!

It would be good if handy calendar would be accessible by pressing the calendar section in the active stand-by screen. By the way, what can I do to join the beta?

One suggestion for the month view:

I prefer a month grid with appointment texts. Since the fields are quite narrow, you only see the first few letters of each entry, but it is good enough to have an overview of the appointments of a whole month.

This view is one of the main reasons I use AquaCalendar at the moment.

Make use of the E90 inner screen resolution to enable more information to be shown with a range of fonts. The S60 calendar also includes To Dos, hopefully you can add these as well but with the ability to group To Dos, again like Psion Agenda application. In fact, why don't you get a cheap Psion Revo from ebay and have a look or use the EPOC PC emulator.

This looks great.
I use Papyrus today, and one thing I miss is to see the hole appointment in week view. if it is to long it should split in to rows.
I also miss the categories from outlook.

Is it possible to take part in the betatesting?

If it has an filter function of Categories as Acua Calendar it would be great, this is a must for me. Acua is too buggy at moment and I know by experince that Epocware is doing great and nearly bug free applications.

Unless this has mentioned already;

When creating a new calenda entry (and during subsequent editing) it would be usefull to be able to bring up a month view (from inside the entry dialogue) to select a date rather than just being limited to a numerical style of entry to select day/month/year etc.

Get a copy of Agenda Fusion or Pocket Informant (windows mobile software) and you will see what I mean. In fact many of the functions in these 2 programs are lacking from any solutions that I have seen for Symbian users.

I for one would be prepared 'top dollar' for a Symbian equivalent.

Good luck - dont let us down Very Happy
