malinda no video but as mg45 said will be like N82.
The early version of the firmware I tested you can rotate everything except the Home screen, note that may change in the final firmware.

Also in the future N95 8GB will get UDP as well.

Message centre is stored in the SIM card, at least in my case.

Strange... I have just check with Nokia SW Updater, which did update itself but did not present any possible upgrade for N95 8GB to v20.
I also checked on Nokia web site, and they tell me V15.0.0.15 is the latest available firmware.

How can this be ?
BTW, the product code of my N95 8GB is 0557135. Anything to do with this ?

It means that the new firmware version is not yet available for your product code.

I have some issues with NSS, hopes someone can help.
I have Windows XP SP2, NSS 10.0.38.12, Nokia PC Suite 6.85.14.1, and a Nokia N95 8GB branded on Vodaphone UK.

I start NSS, then click on "Scan for new devices", it will come up with :
Quote:

Checking Framework...Done.
->..pdginterfc.dll version: 1.0.479
->....pdg4fbus.dll version: 1.0.1641
->....pdg4mbus.dll version: 1.0.106
->.....pdg4fls.dll version: 1.0.1164
->....pdg4flsc.dll version: 1.0.0.58
->pdgphonebook.dll version: 1.0.189
->.bb5usbflash.dll version: 1.0.0.42
Reading Virtual USB device...Done.
->Serial: 1C77AB2E, HW: 0.0
Testing Interfaces...
->USB DKU2....Supported.
->USB CA-53...Supported.
Testing Directories...
->DCT4 Loaders Dir('Flash')......Found.
-->0 file(s) found.
-->Please copy the loaders first!
->ADSP Loaders Dir('FlashUsb')...Found.
-->0 file(s) found.
-->Please copy the loaders first!
->DCT3 Loaders Dir('fls1sup')....Found.
-->0 file(s) found.
-->Please copy the loaders first!
->Products Dir('products').......Not Found.

Then I switch to Phone Info, enable "Product Info" then click on "Read".
NSS shows "Reading Values..." then "error" in the Status Bar.

If I exit NSS here, it will exit quietly. If trying to make another operation, it will look like stuck and give me an instruction access error while quiting.

How can I read and write the Product Info ?
BTW, NSS was installed with Virtual USB selected.

Might be a stupid question from me, but what do you mean by "nokia disables nss" and "doing a system restore" ?

Sorry for the short text, I was posting from my phone .....

The new Nokia cable drivers that are part of the update to NSU seem to be incompatible with the current version of NSS and cause it not to read the phone info.

If you have already installed the update, you will need to do a system restore in XP or Vista to go back to the previous drivers. If you have just installed NSU and did not have a previous version of the driver on your PC then it's game over.

As I said on the E90 firmware thread, I'm not sure if it's a deliberate move by Nokia or just some changes that have disabled NSS.

I had this problem last night, but the system restore brought back the previous drivers, I changed the product code then just downloaded the newest version of NSU again.

Keith,

thanks for your longer post Smile
I made a System Restore to yesterday's situation, ie before I upgraded NSU. Indeed after restarting Windows XP NSS is working and is able to read from my phone.

However, when I now read the phone's info, NSS reports a EURO1 model whereas I have a Vodaphone UK one. The code must have been changed with previous tentatives of using NSS while the latest NSU was already installed.

Even stranger : NSS reports a Euro1 model but when launching NSU, it will still report that I have firmware 15.0.0.15 with no available upgrade, which is the situation of Vodaphone UK.

I guess I will try to put the product code back to Vodaphone UK, then back again to EURO1 using NSS, then try making the upgrade with NSU. But I have a bad feeling about this...
