Well, I'd say it's very alpha... It currently only displays your entries from the 'normal' calendar (which I wanted to use it for, a replacement for the normal 'today' screen) but it takes up too much space, making only the bottom row of icons available. Also accessing the hotkeys, the text goes 'behind' the calendar...

So looks promising but not really that usefull at this moment. Although the pre-alpha explains it enough ofcourse Smile

Guys,

I have started to develop this tool a year ago when I received my SE P990i. I missed this type of feature so I have started to develop something. I have never tested it on any other phone. Unfortunately I have not had much time and in few months I sold that phone so I had to suspend the developement in pre-alpha phase.

Moreover I was not able to overcome the problem with the Activity Menu so I made the project open source and I uploaded it to sourceforge.net (you can find the source there).

Meantime GDesk came out which can give similar features to the user (and it is ready to use).

But next week I will be able to put my hands on a P1 (we have the fasttrack here in Budapest Smile) so I plan to continue the development (maybe I try to transfer it to a GDesk plugin...). I can say that it was an enforcing feedback that you found interesting the work I have done.

Thanks,
Viktor

Vsala, welcome to the forum. Had you released this application a few months back you would have had a lot of followers... better late than never...

I , like any other uiq 3 user would love to see more plugins like weather( as ares said) and more customizable calendar released. i am sure many are even willing to make some donations to keep your motivation up

Gud luck in getting P1i and that too fast !!! Mr. Green

Thanks, it is good to see that some of them really value my work. I am sure that I will somehow continue the development. Anyway I declared it to open source so anybody has any idea to enhance it it is mostly welcomed (http://sourceforge.net/projects/desktopagenda/).

The reason I have not published it before (and actually when it was finally published I have not known about it...) is that it is really in very early development phase (moreover this was my first attempt to develop anything on symbian).

I also plan to develop other "plugins" such as the weather but it requires signing the application which is not so easy so that should be a next step.

Regards,
Viktor

Great! Many good talents get together .. UIQ3 won't die then, despite the bad treatment SE gives to us Wink

Is this project still being worked on? Because I think it's brilliant!

Just a simple little application that fills the gap that the regular standby screen of the P990 leaves behind (quite literally).
