Hi!
So I just started porting gpfce (fceu optimized with ARM assembler for the GP2x by Notaz and more), yesterday, which is an emulator for the classic NES system.
So far I have something on screen, music playing, but no controls or proper screenhandling implemented. Performancewise I think it will do very good.
This will be an alternative to commercial emus, and of course that means without any support or guarantees. I also intend to release this on the UIQ3 platform.

| I will do some kind of scaling yes! Tried iNes on my 6120 yesterday, did portrait.. it flipped the screenmode, and heypresto.. N93 mayhem on my 6120.. The NES resolution is 256x240, so I guess upscaling would be upto 512x352. Now most people have qvga screens, so doing optimization for that is prio one.

Here is a just a test, alpha or what ever you want to call it. . I have a 6120 which is pretty quick. How is this runnig on the slower phones? N73 etc. Portrait mode, qvga, clips the right 16 pixels..
Keys.. are hardcoded.. abit stupid right now..
left & right softkeys are A/B buttons, centerjoystick is start, '0' select
Left, right, up and down as usual.
After loading rom, press the application key and select gpfce, there is an issue with the screen access there.
And some Credits

Just tried right now, good speed, but again, as I understood, inner E90 screen is not fully supported. The main advantage of this project - it is free. But as for me, I have allready VNES license... So this project will be interesting for those, who hasn't got vNES license key, and want to play NES games.
Just keep up the good work AG, as you allways did!

| Yes that was my intention. And it might give some other features not available on other emus. I tried iNes and did n't think it was so good. Have n't tried vnes.. but a playtime of 2,5 minutes. .To short for a trial I think.

| And gpfceu has the best sound.. at least compare to both vnes and iNes. Hmm and that on high quality.

Tested on my Nokia 6120
Speed and accuracy of sound is MUCH better than vNES
I played SMB3 a bit, it was working great!
Also some Zelda2...

| And thats with some highly unoptimized drawing routine (and sound at 22khz mono). So lowering sound rate to 11 or 16 will increase the fps more. Now I need a UI to configure it all (hmm the GP2x version looks nice).. and some scaling routines.

Good Work! Tried it on my N93 - worked but cannot cope with change of orientation - crashes phone - reboot needed. In Laptop orientation screen not full, also unplayable due to button config - tried SMB3 - but working good speed and sounds very good, seems full speed!!! Maybe all thats needed is some config options ala Pico - many thanks for your work and very well done

where do i find the games to play with this?
i installed it and then went to go launch it. the the program asked me for a memory location, so i am assuming that i have to have all the different games as files on my memory card.
so where do you get them?

As stated in the Rules, we don't ask for ROM files on this forum as they are copyrighted. Here Google can be of help instead.
