Hi Mikhail,
Before giving the new beta a try, could you please provide some info about the memory usage on S60 3rd FP1? I'm trying out the new Opera Mobile Beta and I really doubt my E51 can handle 2 memory-hungry beasts!

on the e90:
works great on the external screen. all animations work smoothly on all variants, slow, fast, very fast.
the pictures render great and the "wow" effect is good to have, expecially being without the touch.
the internal screen needs help still.
it pauses and there is a big delay in the rendering, and then when it does render, it is stretched to the screen with the pixels out of focus. also, it is not smooth in reactions.
after the first usage (after changing battery/reboot) it works more fluid.
still it shows a cube with only 3x3 and then when you select it shows the full 4x3 after a 2-3 sec+ pause.
after letting the screen go into standby, where my handy weather shows, when you hit a button (any button) to bring it alive, there was a 9-17 second delay that i had to wait EVERY time i let it do go into standby.
suggestion:
as this is rendering a 3d model, would be great to be able to push up or down on the toggle to select the normal/main screen that is the default on the handset.
have the internal screen render a 4x3 cube rather then the 3x3 and then re-rendering. it does do the rendering in the 4x3 after the initial choosing o fthat screen, and the pictures will show a 5x3 after.
somehow, kill that delay time on the internal screen.
hope that helped.

On a N96 it does not do much at all..
I can be used, but without any other applications, because I only have 6MB of RAM after a clean reboot..
I can see the cube and work it, but it is no improvement..
I can see that it adds a nice "touch" to a touch phone, but I think it is better to not release a version for 3rd-edition Symbian-phones..

Thank you for all your replies!
As for RAM usage, for example on N95 it consumes about 5 to 10 mb (more if you have a lot of photos)
ps: S60 5th beta is up (look in Symbian OS S60 5th Edition forum)

i see approx. 14.2mb RAM difference in using this version in comparison to the handy shell 1.0 that i have been using since it was released.

When I killing the some app with Handy Taskman, Handy Taskman's task screen is no response within 5 or 10 seconds. After that Handy Shell's loading screen.
Sorry for my bad English.

Cube is a nice gimmick, further doesn't it add anything important.
From my perspective not worth any money.

i have noticed that when rebooting my device, that when it should load, it actually freezes and stalls my e90.
ordinarily, it would launch to my default screen and then handy shell launches and takes me to the shell screen. what is happening is that the product attepts to launch, but the phone stalls and hangs until i touch the "red" key to switch to the mobile shell. at that time, after hitting the red button, it freezes and then eventually will go to the trial/regsitry screen after about 8-10 seconds of not being able to do anything with my unit.
hope that helps.

It's working fine in my N95-3, but the cube gets stretched in landscape mode and looks funny, everything else is nice, it even gets a smooth movement in the aplications and contacts list. Even better, the red key won't close my apps anymore! I can go back to the good old days where I could get to the standby screen just by pressing a key, and no more mistakes that ended closing my apps either . Also, isn't there a way to disable the app's task manager?
