yes, but I can't do it OTA. It tells me I need to use OVI suite because of some incompatibility. Which doesn't exist for linux (for linux device ) and there's nothing on tablets dev yet. I'll remove power kernel and try again.

no they didn't update flash.
it's not like a typical full upgrade. this is more like bug fixes. i didn't lose any of my apps. all it did was overwrite about 1023 packages. hahaha.
so far, a few observations:
1. video drivers updated i believe. kinetic scrolling is smoother (graphics wise) and less tearing.
2. bug in xterm - when you first launch it, the little arrow icon on the lower left doesn't show up unless u toggle full screen.
3. xterm now supports multiple sessions. FINALLY!!!!!!!!
4. when picking the Internet Connections menu item from the system area, the first line is always for disconnecting from the current wifi network that u're connected to. unfortunately, it is extremely annoying that the line shows up but the text only appears a few seconds later. arrrgh.
anyone notice any other fixes?? btw, hildon-desktop CPU bug is still there. why oh why. sigh.

That's not new.

Nor is this - XTerm has supported multiple sessions since day 1 (using "New" from the X Terminal menu). Or does it allow more than 4 now?

I don't think this is new either (though the text seems to show up straight away for me).
Anyway, still waiting for 1.3 here.

Until you go full screen & back (or get more than a full page of text) then the icon isn't necessary as it defaults to select mode (because there's nothing to scroll). It's only after the scrollbar appears that the icon does (as dragging then scrolls the screen by default, so the icon is needed to switch modes).

Ah - that sounds like something they've broken then. Does it give any more information there (which would explain why it takes longer for the text to appear)?

Nokia Conversations has announced the new firmware version for the N900, see post. Excerpt:New Nokia N900 software update available
GLOBAL – A new software update is now available for your Nokia N900. The update adds Ovi Suite support to your N900 and makes it even easier to access and sync files and messages between your device and your desktop. In addition, we’ve added hundreds of tweaks and fixes that will make your N900 run faster and smoother than ever. You’ll know that the software update is ready to install when you see a white exclamation mark in a yellow box appear on your device’s screen. Just touch on that icon and follow the instructions.
Be sure to check out the latest games and apps from Ovi Store, like Angry Birds Level Packs 2 & 3, Kroll, Tower Boxx Deluxe 3D and Joiku WiFi Hot Spot. If you receive a not enough memory warning when you try to update the software, just uninstall a few apps and try again. --

So far I don't see a reason to update. With OC 900 and swapolube it works like a charm. What are those hundreds improvements?

One bug fix I have found is that the web browser now zooms in when you double tap a text column. PR 1.2 introduced a bug with zooming out in this case. This has been corrected in PR 1.3.
