I cannot send email with Tmobile nor with Wifi as access points. Again, I can receive emails. I do not think it has anything to do with my settings because I have been not having any problems till date. Any suggestions? |
You will have to check your settings for outgoing email, i.e. the SMTP server. You can only send outgoing emails from servers to which you are logged on to. Or you could use authenticated SMTP.

Try adding widgets one by on and trigger the alarm in between. I had problems with disappearing widgets with 1.2. At the end a realized that I don't need most of them and now I have only BT, personal dataplan and calendar. And no more problems.

Same thing happen with me. Removing "Swappolube" app's resolve the issue.
What i'd notice then after the update, the list of settings in CPUFreqUI application now default to 600Mhz and below.
I missed the extra speed boost.

Use QCPUFreq instead. |
Thanks for the suggestion kinggo. I did installed it earlier after the update and still it shows the 600Mhz maximum default on this QCPUFreq.

After upgrading the firmware to 1.3 you have to reinstall Power Kernel as it gets overwritten with the default kernel
All you have to do is open X-Terminal, type sudo gainroot to become root and then type
apt-get install --reinstall -y kernel-power kernel-power-flasher
and reboot the device.

Regarding disappearing widgets, it hasn't happened in my case. So it must be caused by some 3rd party software that you have installed and I don't...

Ehemm... my N900 is back to online highway with speed booster ON just like before!
Yo Michal, you really know how to help people like me in this site.
Thank you for the above procedure...even without asking, unselfishly, you provided it.
I'll do my "part" this time.

Hmm, isn't that kind of dangerous...
Does it know whom to kill, and whom not to kill?!?!!! And would you be responsible for it's actions?
(Sorry for the OT; I just couldn't resist.... )
Or rather:

The PR 1.3 update should now also be available OTA in the UK. The delay could be due to the UK operators strong arming Nokia.

Does power kernel errase some/all bug fixes from original 1.3 kernel? Although everything seems perfect after I OC my N900 I noticed that recording video is again not smooth as it was after I initially instaled original 1.3 kernel. If that is the case how can I go back to default kernel?

- launch X-Terminal
- type sudo gainroot (rootsh has to be installed)
- type apt-get install --reinstall -y kernel kernel-flasher to flash the original kernel
- type apt-get remove -y kernel-power kernel-power-modules to remove Power Kernel
