Hi people I have the following problem, I installed one application then delete it, then I noticed that this is again the main menu. I tried to delete it by following commands:
apt-get autoremove
apt-get clean
Do not get, tried with other commands:
dpkg -r .....
Drew my: package can not be deleted because it is not installed
I tried again by:
apt-get update
apt-get autoremove
I gave him a restart and I hope this application is finally removed, but it remains the main menu.I do not know what to do to delete

What application is it? Did you install it using HAM (Maemo Application Manager) or from the command line? Did you do anything with the application after you installed it (like move it to another folder)?

We need more details to be able to better assist you.

Hello yesterday i tried to install" wl1251-maemo-0.1.tar.gz"as the last step is to install"FAircrack".Installation is only from the command line(x-terminal).Follow the instructions on http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=914062&postcount=1(for wl1251-maemo-0.1.tar.gz) and follow instructions on http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=69009(for FAircrack).Carried out the instructions, but obviously I'm wrong somewhere because when I tried to run FAircrack(from icon)starts to load but stops suddenly.Uninstall everything, but the icon(FAircrack) still stays in the menu.I tried today apt-get remove FAircrack with sudo gainroot then as root, but do not get

Well the bleeding-edge WIFI drivers do not any icons associated with them as far as I know.

For the FAircrack icon, check in:
/usr/share/applications/hildon/

There is a .desktop file. If you find the desktop file, you can open it in a text editor (i.e. vi) and look for the 'exec' line. That contains the file path to the program. You may want to check the path to make sure the program is actually removed.

If the program is definitely removed, you can delete the .desktop file (which will remove it from the main menu).

As always - be careful when doing these things.

1. Launch X-Terminal

2. Type in:
cd /usr/share/applications/hildon

3. Press 'Enter' on keyboard.

4. Type in:
mv faircrack.desktop /home/user/MyDocs

5. Press 'Enter'.

The art of moving a file is safer than deleting it.
