Hello,

Epocrates is a medical reference software fore pda/smartphones (http://www.epocrates.com/). Unfortunately, there is no version for Maemo or Meemo for that matter. Does anybody know how I can get this on the N900 or is this wishful thinking? It is out for Android, Palm, iPhone, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile.

If the developer of the software doesn't support the platform of your phone, there's little you can do, except ask them to make a version for your phone.

You could look at the Garnet Palm VM (which seems to be in eternal beta). You need to register for the beta program, but it's a free download then. There were some issues with DRMed files on the previous version, but I've not tested this one yet.

Hello,

Thanks for your replies. RobIn, their website did say that Palm VM platform is not supported. So I think this pretty much defeats the purpose of registration for the beta.

There is no such thing as "Palm VM platform". Garnet Palm VM ("Virtual Machine") is basically an emulator of the "Palm Classic" platform. So if Epocrates software works on classic Palm then it should work fine under Garnet VM, unless there are problems with DRM.

Exactly. Especially that the aforementioned "registration for the beta" actually only means typing your email address on Garnet's home page and 5 seconds later receiving an email with the link to download the emulator.
