When Jolla comes out, I'd like it to be available on:
  Touchscreen only, like the N9
  Touchscreen + slide-out hardware QWERTY, like N950
  Nokia Communicator-like design, clamshell
Touch and Type, like the Nokia E6
  Other (please explain below)

What kind of devices you would like to see based on the upcoming Jolla OS?

I would love to see clamshell, but I think this form factor is unlikely these days.
I hope Jolla will not follow the iphonesque trend and will produce some N950 form factor. Or, E6, should cost be the reason.

Unfortunately, the forum poll does not allow selecting multiple options, but for me the perfect combination would obviously be the N9 + N950 type devices, something that apparently Nokia had planned initially on Harmattan.

I would also love to see a Communicator-type clamshell (I guess that the technology has moved forward enough to make this type of device much thinner than the E90) but it probably won't happen anytime soon, and surely not in the first run where they'll surely want to offer the most popular design types to attract as many people as possible...

I never noticed that the newer N97/N900/N950 form was different from the clamshell, but the communicator form is surely better.

I have replaced my screen on Nokia N9 once because the touch-interface didn't like all the scratches on it. N9 have no other option. The communicator interface can have touch on the inside and be better protected. It's not an option to buy another phone without an alternative to touch screen for messaging. I hope it's also usable for navigation in menus.

Maybe they could have two halves with their own batteries communicating through NFC. They could be detached and attached differently. They would probably have to be attached to each other when charging though. A keyboard does not need too much bandwidth. The screen does so CPU must be in the screen part. This is just a crazy thought. I don't know if it's good past prototype stage.

Interesting discussion on Jollatides on this subject:

http://jollatides.com/2012/10/04/poll-results-what-they-mean/

They talk about a touch phone with a detachable keyboard.

Interesting idea...

I had a phone with detachable keyboard. It was a PocketPC device, don't remember its name now (HTC something) - a huge one with 5" screen. Based on experiences with that device I can say that it is generally a bad idea. When I though I wouldn't need the keyboard and left it at home it always turned out that I needed it the most. And once I almost lost it as I left it on the table in a pub...

For a phone N950 form. I'd like to see a Tablet too makes more sense for a detachable keyboard. I finally succumbed and bought an Android 7" but find typing on it a pain. N900 hardware keyboard beats it hands down...still going strong after nearly 3 years. Hope Jolla will deliver a worthy upgrade!

N900 form factor is fine by me. But I can live with touch only if screen is 4.3" or bigger. I think that it's even better for them to make the first device like that. Generally they are more wanted and cheaper to make.
Also, as additional keyboard maybe something like this

but with USB and something foldable as a support for phone. It would help and it would cost nothing.

Last time I tried to write something serious on my N9 it occurred to me that touch-screens make me want to type with my thumbs. My thumbs are my two fingers that's the least suited to the task of writing. No doubt that I prefer my full-size computer keyboard. I don't even always use my thumbs for the space bar which is the only key it's suited for. I will not buy Jolla if it's touch-only.

For the very same reason I use the N950 while the N9 catches dust in a drawer....

Something like this would be nice: the LG Mach. Actually, a galaxy note with a stylus and a slide out keyboard that I would like

Exactly, 5 row key-board. Very handy for strong passwords. Prevents a lot of hassle. The E90 allso has dedicated function keys: direct access to calender, notes etc. I love those! But that can be solved with the touch screen.
