Hi.
I know N9 does not have a flash player and videos of youtube are played on the N9 media player. But it is lacking a thing. Whenever I was pause a video it also stop buffering. Like if I am using my any internet connection and speed is not good to play a video and need sometims to buffer it. I pause the video on pc or on Nokia E72, when the buffering is complete i just play it and can see the video completely. But in N9 when I pause the youtube video and let it buffer, it just stop. Means no buffering.

Suggest me a solution to this. Any app which can you recomend for youtube..

Also any app for downloading youtube videos

But the app offering buffering in pause mood is most appreciated.

Thanks...

cuteTube is a fully featured YouTube client that allows you to browse, search, play, upload and download YouTube videos. You can also manage your uploads, favourites, playlists and subscriptions.

What brings you to this that the app does not buffer? As far as I know does the app buffer the video in the background i.e. the blue process bar only means the progress in the video not the buffered progress. Why do you actually want to buffer the whole video? Is it because of a slow internet connection or did you experience any lags while you watched one in the past? I mean I don not watch that much youtube on my N9, but I never had any laggings when I paused and continued a video, even fast-forwarding and rewind was no prob.

It is because of the slow speed of internet. my cellular service provider give me Edge, the normal speed is 25-30 kb/sec. I didn't use a wifi connection yet.
I want to pause the video so when it is buffered comoletely i can watch it without any pause. In the app i have waited alot that it could be buffered but it did not. when after sometime i played the video it just played for a second and start buffering. In Nokia E72 that was very easy in the app also in the browser.

Try cuteTube-QML, which provides the same functionality but it is free.

Stuart Howarth has submitted a new version cuteTube that solves the crash problem with PR 1.3, see Software from Marxian. Excerpt:
cuteTube 1.2.0 For N9 Submitted To Nokia Store
Version 1.20 of cuteTube for the Nokia N9 has now been submitted to Nokia Store QA. The changelog is similar to that for the Symbian version detailed below, so I'll just go ahead and post a few screenshots. This update also solves the stability issues arising from the PR1.3 firmware update (thanks Nokia :/). In the meantime, the current version has been removed from the store to avoid disappointment.

    Here's the screenshots:

[See N9 screenshots at link above]

    cuteTube 1.2.0 Ready For Release
I am happy to announce that the new version of cuteTube is now ready to be released for Symbian devices (N9 version will follow very shortly after some necessary tweaks to the QML UI). This is a significant update with many improvements and a number of new features. Here's the changelog:

    • Full support for Dailymotion with multiple accounts.
    • New 'Social' feature that provides access to YouTube/Dailymotion videos retrieved from your Facebook and Twitter feeds.
    • Easy switching between accounts from the main screen.
    • Updated UI with many improvements, including a new main screen and greater use of tool buttons.
    • Improvements to search, including filtering and displaying of previous searches, plus retrieving of videos from a URL on the clipboard.
    • More advanced settings for search and playback/download quality.
    • Access to hints/tips via the 'info' buttons present in the UI.
    • Access to your private YouTube/Dailymotion videos.
    • Threaded conversations in video comments.
    • You can now reply to individual comments (YouTube only).
    • Confirmation that you wish to quit the application if transfers are in progress.
    • More extensive choice of video categories.
    • Access to your YouTube 'watch history' (videos watched via the website).
    • Transfers can now be assigned low/medium/high priority.
    • YouTube authentication now uses OAuth2 instead of AuthSub.
    • Full support for unlinked Google accounts, including the option to link an unlinked account from inside the application.
    • A number of bug fixes.

QA means Quality Assurance in this context, but for Nokia store I think the assurance is questionable. It's probably better than no assurance though. It probably removes the worst threats. It removes a couple of legitimate applications and fails to remove some low-quality misbehaving ones. It fails to remove garbage-level-applications which does not do anything other than show up in the list of applications.
