The guy that produced the first keyboard TOH now has an official website and a store. On his website he tries to offer some help for other developers to create TOH (see here: http://funkyotherhalf.com/) and in his store you can buy some nice TOH already (as well as pre order upcoming TOHs).

Those available TOHs are some wireless charging enable TOHs in different colours/shapes.

Preorderable are a solar charging TOH, the LedTOH and a developer board (breadboard) TOH for all those out there keen enough to try something for themselves.

I thought this is worth sharing with you.

One word: GREAT! Kudos to the guy. I'll love to be his customer in the future, if only Jolla starts supporting their platform and makes me feel that by buying accessories for their phone I am NOT throwing my money out of the window.

Imagine how much Jolla themselves could earn if they offered such accessories themselves, and what a great promotion it would be for the platform if such accessories were available as official manufacturer's products. But they prefer to spend their time on Android stuff and complain that they are a small and poor company.

I can't remember anyone ever writing about TOHKBD2 on this forum so here it goes:

I received mine in May and have been using it more or less since. Initially it was not very good for anything as different keys required different amount of force for it to register, but after a while the keys got easier to press, and now most or all keys work correctly. For linux commands and english language I think it is quite good, and better than the virtual screen keyboard.

It does not however work with scandinavian characters, or other non-ASCII characters. Norwegian use a lot of æøå so I have to slide in the keyboard and write those using the touch keyboard instead. This means that I use the keyboard less often than I would prefer. This is not an issue with tohkbd itself, but rather a real restriction in the way SailfishOS handles hardware keyboards. It will not be fixed with 1.1.7 either

It does supports shortcuts, F1-F12 can launch 12 different applications and it is user configurable in a settings app that is installed with it.

This is a useful page for issues and when they have, or still haven't been solved, or manual solutions if they don't happen fix themselves by an update.

With 1.1.9.28 the keyboard is working much better. äöü is supported and on Openrepos a lot of patches are available to get most apps and homescreen with landscape or reverted landscape support. This makes using the keyboard really fun and the overall experience is much better. After using the keyboard for a while, the accuracy improved a lot and I'm really fast at typing now...

Some of the secondary buttons are still wrongly mapped, so using the terminal is not yet well enough, but I hope that will be fixed soon as well.
