There is a coding competition taking place for Sailfish.

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=97666

Jolla seems to sponsor it...

Any interest Michal? Wink

It's the first time I hear about it and it ends today, so it's a little bit to late. As always, they didn't bother to let anyone else but themselves know about it. It's really amusing to expect that anyone but a few geeks still regularly visit Memo.org forums. If that's the way they plan to attract new developers then I can only be sorry.

Recently I did participate in a similar app contest organized by BlackBerry called "Developer Hero" and I won it.

So I would happily participate in a Jolla contest too - if only they let me know about it...

Ah. Sorry. I thought I read something about ending february, 16th. What a pitty. Well, I heard about it 4 days ago from Jolla tweet https://twitter.com/JollaHQ/status/824926054288601093

That's why I thought it's "new".

According to this page

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=98027

they launched it on November 1, 2016 and it ended an hour ago. Only voting will last until Feb 16, but submissions are no longer possible.

So, it's been three months since they launched it and no one but a few Maemo.org readers knew about it.

Lets remind ourselves how they were spamming everyone about T-shirts or Angry Birds TOHs, but when it comes to such coding competitions or any other developer offers they behave as if they actually didn't want anyone to know.

It's the most bizarre company I've ever encountered. And, given their popularity, it doesn't serve them well.
