Phone: Nokia 9000,9100,9200,9300,9500, E90 - end

PostPosted: Friday, 15.Dec.2017 21:22    Post subject: E90 active again - need your knowhow and advice   Reply with quote

Hello to all members and hopefully, present owners of Nokia Communicators,

After my 9000/9100/9200/9500/9300, I pretty much stayed - till date with 9300, two of them to be precise. E90 was purchased the moment it came, but never really used it, I never really like simplified and lost magic of S80.

However, recently I’ve woke my E90 and with some shame, I have to ask some questions, because, I'm lost, specially with how little I’m adept to S60.

While making radio stations list, by accident, I’ve placed symbol inside the name of station, and each time I wish to save another preset, if go over 3thd preset, FM radio application gets closed automatically and there is nothing I can do. Since E90 default radio application has miserable editing options, I found no way to erase that preset. Perhaps I’m missing something? So if you could kindly point me :

1) Is there a way to erase (withing application) FM stations and start all over again?

2) if not, where E90 keeps log/list of those radio stations, so I can manually erase them?

3) Most likely this would require some application that would allow me to see system files that are invisible by default, I assume? I so, which application or utility please?

4) generally speaking, is there any utility/application that would let me to tailor more seriously system/applications because, lack of dedicated buttons is killing me with E90 compared to 9300/9500.

5) Is there any present application for E90/S60 that would actually allow me to record FM Radio? But I mean earthly FM stations, not radio over web.

Thank you for your attention and kind help

I was hoping, at least one response would find me, when I get back to this forum.
Alas, not a single attempt.

I guess E90 is truly a dead phone.

If somene would be so kind, at least to point me to any forum, where E90 users hang, or at least share some information.

Thank you

This specific problem I don't remember how to solve . Sometimes backspace-button does a wonder . Another E90 old-time forum you'll find here :

PS : ICE going back to Factory Settings in the E90 'Settings' will erase all your personal choises and ingredients like contacts , themes etc etc .

2. Try digging in C:/Private. You need to find out the application ID of the radio app and go to the corresponding folder in Private -- you miiiiiiiight find some datafiles there. I'm not giving any guarantees though haha
3. X-Plore seems like what you're after
4. Give Jbak Taskman a try

First of all,

please forgive my late reply Smile

JApi NL, ABCDKE, Traxx, thank you kindly for taking your time.

I will look into your recommendations.

If I could trouble you all with the one (last) issue that seems to be crown problem, I’m facing at the moment.

I can tolerate most of downgrades from 93xx range, but for life of me, I’m speechless about the state of E90’s Calendar facilities. How on earth do you inherit one the most precise and powerful calendars since Nokia 9000, and end up with E90’s default one?

There is no copy paste option in calendar. How on earth they "envisioned" for user to write each time - again and again - another list? From 9000-9500 copy-paste is the standard.

Please, please, tell me how to remedy and have full functional copy-paste within E90’s calendar? Is there any E90 S60 calendar software/utility that offers full copy-paste in calendar?

Also, how to deal with certificate errors from one strike? Sure, I have read date/update solutions, but they are not definitive for all the software I’ve tried.

Thank you for your patience, thoughts and suggestions

It doesn't come clear to my mind though ... but I remember that I had to buy a second hand 9500 to transfer calendar and contacts from 9210 to E90 :
1) Bluetooth transfer from 9210 to 9500 , and than
2) Bluetooth transfer from 9500 to E90 !!!!!
By that time I didn't have a computer at my disposal , but it worked .
Probably "Nokia PC Suite" installed on Computer will do the job for you .
Smile Regards : jApi NL

Hi jApi NL Smile

no, I'm not troubled to get calendar data into E90.

The trouble is E90's default calendar - no copy-paste whatsoever Sad

I'm looking for solution:

1) Is there any update/fix for E90 calendar to have copy-paste function?

2) If not, is there any known Calendar utility for E90 capable of having copy-paste?

I'm not quite clear, is copy-paste limitation of S60 inside calendar application? Makes no sense to me, but, you never know.

I'm simply looking for humanoid way of being able to copy calendar events and simply paste them into next days - when needed.

regards
