Community Seamless Software Update (CSSU)
Seamless Software Update (SSU) is the term Nokia used to brand the over-the-air updates of Maemo. Community Seamless Software Update (CSSU) is being developed by the Maemo community, for the Maemo community. It aims to deliver fixes which can't be delivered easily through Extras, such as core Maemo packages. It won't, however, bundle software which can be installed through the Extras repositories.

Shortly speaking, this project will deliver future (community made) firmware updates, fixes and enhancements of the core platform, after Nokia stops (or already stopped) providing them to the N900.

For more details on the project and how to install it on your device, please refer to the following Wiki page:

N900's Ovi Maps with real turn-by-turn and voice guidance!
One of the most beautiful things about Maemo is that where Nokia (so miserably) stopped the community starts and brings us all the features we've always missed. This time it is about extending the core functionality of Ovi Maps to not only bring back map rotation (tilt control) and 3D buildings (features which once were there but disappeared in PR1.2) but also provide true turn-by-turn navigation and even voice guidance! The modifications are currently a work-in-progress, but even now highly usable and with huge chances to become fully functional solutions really soon.

No time to waste, just read the following threads @ TMO:

* Ovi Maps Extra Features

* Ovi Maps with Voice Guidance Beta
