[New] Dodgin' Diamond II for UIQ 3
Dodgin' Diamond II is a Deluxe Galaga style shot'em up arcade game for one or two players. It's an 'old school' arcade game with top-down scroll action, energy based gameplay and different weapons with several levels of power. The UIQ 3 version has been ported by AnotherGuest from a PC/Linux game written by Juan J. Martinez.

Opera Mini 4 beta 2 with landscape mode
Opera has released new version 4 beta 2 of the Opera Mini Java MIDP based browser for mobile devices. The new version adds landscape mode, encryption support, multisearch, content folding, small anti-aliased bitmap fonts and lots of improvements and enhancements (see full changelog here). CorePlayer Beta 1 available
CoreCodec has released the first public version of CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian OS. CorePlayer is an audio and video player supporting all the latest codecs, including CoreAVC / H.264, DivX, XviD, MPEG-1 Video, AAC, MP3, OGG, FLAC, WAVPack, and Midi Ringtone Audio. The current version is available for UIQ 2.x, UIQ 3.x, Series 60 2.x and S60 3rd Edition platforms. It is marked as "Beta 1" which is a little bit surprising as the program is commercial, quite expensive ($25) and doesn't even offer a trial/demo. More details @

Mobiz LiveFeeder by Mobiz Technologies is an advanced RSS news reader. The application can run full screen or in ticker mode, which can be resized and moved around the screen. Mobiz LiveFeeder supports Wifi and mobile network connections and can switch them automatically. RSS channels can be added manually or chosen from channels directory. LiveFeeder supports news containing text, images and streaming content.

N81, N81 8 GB and N95 8 GB announced
Nokia has just announced three new S60 3rd Edition based phone models.

With dedicated music and gaming keys, 3.5 mm headphone connector and 3G and WLAN connectivity, the Nokia N81 is a true mobile entertainment powerhouse. With a sleek, polished surface and keys that light up when you activate them, accessing content on the 3D multimedia menu is fast and intuitive. The N81 is configured to find, buy, manage and play music and games purchased from the Nokia Music Store and N-Gage games service. The estimated retail price of the N81 is 360 EUR before subsidies or taxes. The N81 8GB is expected to retail for 430 EUR before subsidies or taxes. Both versions are expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2007. Full technical specifications are available here and here.

The Nokia N95 8GB now offers up to eight gigabytes of built-in memory. The N95 8GB also boasts a new luminous 2.8" QVGA display. With its expanded memory, the N95 8GB offers up to 20 hours of video or up to 6000 songs. Nokia Maps 1.0 now available for S60 3rd Edition phones
Nokia has released the final 1.0 version of Nokia Maps software. The update is compatible with most recent S60 3rd Edition phones, including E61(i), E65, N72, N73, N76, N93i and the ones with Nokia Maps preinstalled in ROM, e.g. the E90 Communicator, N95 and 6110 Navigator. The new version is available for download here. Let's hope that Windows Vista-compatible MapLoader version will also be released soon.

[Upd] Dreamway and Meteor for Nokia E90
Mobile Stream has released new versions of their two games, supporting both displays of the E90 Communicators and optimized for the internal one. Dreamway is a top-view racing game with cartoony graphics, console look and feel. Meteor is an Arkanoid clone: destroy bricks, saving your ship from enemy missiles and getting as much power-ups as possible.

This means it's always easy to find the people you text the most. CorePlayer for UIQ and S60 Edition coming next week
According to CoreCodec Forum, CorePlayer (an Xvid/DivX/WMA/OGG video player) for Symbian OS will finally be released next Wednesday. Supported platforms will include Series 60 2.x, S60 3rd Edition, UIQ 2 and UIQ 3.x, with Series 80 and Series 90 versions to be released later. Starting today Nokia customers in eleven countries with compatible S60 devices can download the new suite enabling access to Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Contacts and Windows Live Spaces. By enabling access to Windows Live services on S60 platform using standard web services protocols users will have the power to seamlessly move between contacts, mail, messenger, phone calls, text messaging, camera, gallery and browsing all in an integrated way. Users of the N73, N76, N80 Internet Edition, N93i, and the N95 can get the Windows Live services via the Download! application in the following countries: Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, UK, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The new version 1.3 brings many enhancements, including new and improved Tasks view, new "Reminder" item, new single line Daily view, ability to create birthdays from within Papyrus, fullscreen support for individual views, and support for the large internal display of the new Nokia E90 Communicator. New firmware R6E28 for Sony Ericsson P990i
Following its promise, Sony Ericsson has just released new firmware version R6E28 for the Sony Ericsson P990i. You can update your phone at home using Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS). Detailed changes haven't been given by the manufacturer but you can check the P990i firmware thread on our UIQ 3 discussion forum for opinions and experiences of those who have already updated their devices.
