EasyStreetView is a Google Maps client for Qt-based smartphone platforms, focused on, and optimized for, quick and convenient StreetView access and usage. Easy to use, small (only 30 kB) and fast.

Unlike in other clients, you don't have to switch back and forth between the map and the street view if you want to change location, no need to drag and drop the Pegman, either.

This application provides both the map and the street view on one screen. Simply enter an address to find the desired location and show it on a map, then just tap on a street/place you want to see and... that's it - a marker will be shown on the map and street view will be displayed.

EasyStreetView for Nokia N9 / N950 / MeeGo Harmattan

The map and street view are integrated with each other - you can switch to a different street anytime just by tapping on different area on the map and street view will change instantly. As you move on the street view, the marker moves on the map, too, always showing you the current, exact location. At the bottom of the screen, on the task bar, you can always see current location's coordinates (latitude and longitude) and current heading (direction you're facing on the street view). The map and street view can be zoomed in/out, panned and rotated independently. You can switch the map between street and satellite view.

EasyStreetView for Nokia N9 / N950 / MeeGo Harmattan

Obviously, this application can show the street view only for locations which street view imagery exists for. If you tap on a street or place where street view panorama is not available from Google, the marker will not be shown and a short vibration feedback will be generated to let you know that this location isn't Street View enabled.

EasyStreetView uses Google's Geocoding service to translate addresses into map locations, and Google Maps / StreetView APIs to show the map and street view. It requires Interent connection. The program supports both portrait and landscape orientation.

@berrybear: this application does what the description above says. I've never said that it is better than VeskuMaps or anything else. It's simply different and serves different purpose: quick and easy Street View usage on a mobile phone. Considering very positive ratings in the Ovi Store (especially the Symbian version) and nearly 800 copies sold in total within less than 2 months, people seem to like it. [No rate]

@ jalmarsson: Thank you for your comment! I cannot reproduce the problem with the application closing when you press the zoom button - it doesn't do so neither on my N9 nor on the N950... But I'm not sure if it makes sense to zoom in the world map to the street level using the buttons - simply entering the street ADDRESS you want to view is much quicker and simpler... The world map is there actually just as a "placeholder" - to show something when the application starts, before the user selects the actual location.... Anyway, YES, the application MAY close itself from time to time, and it is not this application's fault. It is a problem with QML's WebView (or something connected with it) on the MeeGo Harmattan platform (it does not happen on Symbian with exactly the same application code). In other words, there is A BUG IN THE SYSTEM on the N9, which - unfortunately - I can't do anything about. The only easy way to provide Google Maps and StreetView on Harmattan is to use Google's Javascript API, and show it within QtWebKit / QML WebView. Unfortunately, WebView on Harmattan seems to be buggy and quite "fragile", which means that if the HTML/JS code to show in it is "too heavy" then it tends to just QUIT once in a while. As you know, Nokia no longer develops Harmattan, so we cannot count on any system bug fixes. So the only choice I had was to either release this app (knowing that it may quit from time to time), or not to release it at all... I chose the former (as otherwise the application is fully functional and IMO fast and useful), so I guess now I need to accept that not much people will understand that it is a system bug and will blame the application for that... I will further investigate this, but from what I've seen so far there's little (if anything) that can be done as the problem is not in the application but in the system, which I obviously cannot fix. As for the size of zoom buttons, this is how Google Maps API provides them and it's not easy to change it without creating custom buttons from scratch, which would mean an even higher "load" to WebView and - possibly - its less stable operation. To recap, I'm sorry for any possible issues but they're caused by bugs in the system, which is not developed by Nokia anymore and thus no fixes will be provided by Nokia. I guess it was better to make this application available, anyway, rather than not releasing it at all... [No rate]

IT crashes when hitting zoom in at start. Option for full display for both views( togle). And zoom-buttons could be a little bigger. also option for the righthanded to zoombuttons.otherwise it's pretty darn cool app! Thank YOU!!! [No rate]
