Hack you phone and avoid signing if you don't have a developer certificate. [Rate: 10/10]

It is as simple as useful. If you don't know how to sign your apps, you do not need a smartphone. Google for applications to sign it locally on your PC, or best, hack your phone. [Rate: 10/10]

The .sis file contains capabilities that are not permitted for Open Signed (Online) FAILURE: Submitted .sis file uses a UID that is not allocated to the account holder matching this email address (0x20020d05 ) [No rate]

When I try to sign online I get "The .sis file contains capabilities that are not permitted for Open Signed (Online)" Hence this program is junk! [Rate: 0/10]

Open Signed says "The .sis file contains capabilities that are not permitted for Open Signed (Online)" [Rate: 0/10]

I would expect from author to upload signed app or at least supply us with e-mail used in app to self sign. [Rate: 2/10]

Without a way of signing it it is useless and the comment about that not being the author's fault is irrelevant. How do you know the app even works if you cannot test it?

f*ckin certificate needed...
on 2008-09-17 14:14 CET
Well, in such case it seems that the only way is to use the S60 platform security hack which disables all capabilities... But still, it's not this program's fault... It's those who invented the Symbian OS platform security to blame for that even a simple Ping function requires capabilities that are so restricted that one cannot sign the program using the only available official (legal?) method. Well, that's probably why it took so many years for someone to release the first Ping app for S60. Nokia, wake up and loosen the restrictions somehow! It's silly that a Ping app, available for all platforms and operating systems, on Symbian OS cannot be even signed!

Well following the instructions doesn't help, here's what Open Signed says when trying to sign: "The .sis file contains capabilities that are not permitted for Open Signed (Online)" So it cannot be signed in that way!

Open Signed Online refuses to sign this application!!! How to get a certificate then? It's a shame, I really like to try out this app.
on 2008-09-16 11:17 CET
I rate this Average, because I haven't been able to sign it through the Open Signed Online as instructed. If I try to do it I get: "The .sis file contains capabilities that are not permitted for Open Signed (Online)". What is wrong?

I rated this app 100%, both because it's worth it (it does what it's supposed to and it's the only Ping available for S60 3rd Ed.) and to counterbalance low (undeserved) ratings given by others. Guys, please read the description before rating, it clearly says that the program requires signing. It's not this program's or its author's fault that signing is needed, it's Symbian OS' requirement, so don't give low ratings because of that. Someone finally, after 3 years, made a Ping utility for S60v3 and it really deserves higher rating than 20% or so...

You need to sign this application before installing. get a binpda certificate or hack your phone to get it installed.

I can not install the application because i get an certification error on installation

Potentially, quite useful, but installation on my E90 fails as it's unsigned. without an explanation of how to overcome that, it is useless.
